Feel Confident in Your Skin
Two of the most common and confidence-shaking conditions we see at our CaTara Medical Spa in Chicago are spider veins and varicose veins. These skin conditions may cause you to be reluctant to dress in a way that exposes the skin with these visible veins present. Luckily, these easily treatable conditions aren’t ones that have to continue to hamper your self-esteem.
Spider veins and varicose veins are often considered the same thing, but there are actually a few distinct differences between the two. Spider veins appear on the surface of your skin.
They are small, and typically pink, purple, or red in color. Varicose veins are still visible on the surface of your skin, but are actually a little deeper than spider veins. Varicose veins are green or blue in color. Both conditions are easily treated with little recovery needed thanks to laser vein removal treatment.

The Laser Vein Removal Process
What to Expect
Consultation
Before your laser vein removal at CaTara Medical Spa in Chicago, you will meet with a member of our team for a consultation to discuss your individual situation. We will go over any concerns you may have and share all relevant information you should be aware of before scheduling your treatment.
Laser Vein Removal Treatment
First, we apply a handheld laser against the skin to cover the targeted vein. This handpiece delivers light that penetrates through the skin and into the blood inside the vein. The skin around the vein will be unaffected. As the blood absorbs the energy from the laser, the vein will begin to heat, causing the vessel’s lining to constrict and fade away from the surface of the skin and out of view. This leaves the skin clear and looking as if the veins were never visible!
